The police on Tuesday dismissed any terror connection to the shooting incident at Jewal Chowk in Jammu, identifying it as a result of gang rivalry.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu, Anand Jain, informed reporters that the attack was carried out by the Gataru gang from Vijaypur against a rival group member. He emphasized that there was no terrorist involvement in the incident.
The victim, Sumit Jandial (37), a resident of Vijaypur in Samba, was shot dead by unidentified assailants. Authorities have initiated a large-scale search operation to track down the perpetrators.
