Review of implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Poonch District

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal and Mission Director JJM (J&K), Khursheed Ahmad Shah jointly convened a meeting today to assess the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district Poonch.

The review focused on the organizational structure, ongoing civil works, and challenges faced in project implementation.

During the meeting, the Xen Jal Shakti provided a detailed overview of the JJM schemes, highlighting that out of 132 schemes, 30 have been successfully completed.

The Mission Director emphasized the need to expedite ongoing works and initiate projects that have yet to commence, particularly in remote and urban areas, ensuring equitable access to clean water for all residents.

The discussion also covered the status of various components, including Borewell, pipe networks, GSR, pump rooms etc.

The Mission Director directed all engineers and concerned officials to prioritize quality and timely completion while maintaining proper supervision throughout the process.

Notably, of the 112 mechanical works, 26 have been finished, and of the 97 electric substations works, 73 are complete.

Bodh Raj Bhagat, Consultants: Er. Vijay Arora & Er. Gurcharan Singh, DPMU Poonch Er. Ranjeev Sawhney, Members of third Party Inspection agency.
