The Youth Services and Sports Department Jammu today organised a Judo tournament for deaf and dumb students at School for Hearing Handicapped, Residency Road run by J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra, A Voluntary Social and cheritable Organisation. District Officer, DYYSO Jammu Sh. Sukhdev Raj Sharma presented a bouquet to Sh. J K Vaid, General Sectary J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra Jammu, the chief guest of the program. The tournament was in presence of ZPEO Jammu Mrs. Harvinder Kour, Principal School for Hearing Handicapped, Mr. Roshan Bhan, all the officials of Jammu zone, school staff and around 80 deaf and dumb students.
There after matches were conducted under the different weight categories like -40kg, -45kg, -55kg where both boys and girls participated. The matches were conducted by the coaches Mr. Varinder Sharma (PEM) and Mr. Raman Sharma (PET). Medals were distributed among the winners later. Refreshment was also distributed among all the students of the school.
In the end Mrs. Harvinder Kour, ZPEO Jammu proposed words of appreciation and thanked the chief guest for their valuable support and the staff for making their sincere efforts in making the said competition a great success and appreciated the participants and motivated them to participate in games and sports to maintain their fitness level.
