Jammu, Oct 19: ‘Rashtriya Hindu Kalyan Sangathan’ – a national Organization is all set to launch a special campaign against the increasing cases of religious conversion in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sunny Pradhan, National president of the organization in a statement expressed serious concern over an increase in religious conversions of minorities especially ‘Hindus’ in Jammu and Kashmir. Pradhan, while pointing to areas like Bishnah and RS Pura, said that the people of Hindu religion, who are already a minority in the Union Territory are being lured by different means so as to convert into other religions by some illegitimate elements.
“Taking cognisance of such elements, Rashtriya Hindu Kalyan Sangathan is going to launch a special campaign for people of Hindu religion, who are being lured, pressurized to convert their religion,” said Pradhan.
The statement further said that the officials of the organisation held an internal meeting on this issue, after threadbare discussions the members finalised the strategy to launch a campaign to stop religious conversions. The meeting expressed deep concern over the conversion of young girls through love jihad and urged the authorities to take serious note of the issue so that religious freedom of minority in the UT J&K is protected.
